Simulcast of KQCW's digital programming is transmitted on KOTV's digital subchannel 6.2 and is identical to the digital programming report on KQCW's Form 398 Childrens Television Report. KOTV broadcasts News on 6 Now on digital subchannel 6.3 effective April 1, 2011, until further notice. On 12/21/13 KOTV pre-empted four childrens programs from 7a-9a (Lucky Dog, Dr. Chris Pet Vet, Recipe Rehab and Jamie Oliver's 15 Minute Meals) due to severe weather in the area and in the best interest of the public, and makegoods for these four programs aired on 12/28/13, 11a-1p as reported above. On Saturday, 12/21/13, 7a-8a, KQCW lost connectivity to the transmitter and the programs The Adventures of Chuck and Friends as well as Rescue Heroes could only be seen by persons viewing KQCW who had cable. On 10/12/13 News on 6 Now program (The Coolest Places on Earth) began eight minutes late due to equipment failure. In addition to airing a schedule of educational and informational programming appropriate for children, KOTV serves this segment of the viewing audience in other ways. On-air personnel from KOTV The News on 6 make appearances before children and pre-teens in the community talking about potential careers in broadcasting and what it's like to work at a television station. KOTV also sponsors and supports various community outreach projects aimed at addressing the needs and concerns of children and pre-teens. October 2013: The News On 6 at Tulsa State Fair - This is a station-wide project for News on 6. Our booth is designed to raise awareness and funds for the Eastern Oklahoma Community Food Bank's "Backpack Program", which we call Food For Kids. The booth is manned by station employees and our News Anchors come out in two-hour shifts to meet and greet. November 2013: Angel Tree - The News on 6 sponsored Angel Tree program from the local branch of the Salvation Army. The program allows the public to choose a child to buy presents for. Our Six in the Morning Team served as the emcees for the kick off. December 2013: Various Christmas Parades - Members of our News On 6 Team regularly appear in more than 10 different Christmas parades throughout the News On 6 viewing area interacting with the public at each parade.
