Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | During the second quarter, WWHO addressed the educational and informational needs of children through a variety of programming, outreach activities and sponsorships of local children's events and fundraisers. WWHO's local talent -the CW Star and the CW Street team - helped bring awareness to children's medical issues through their participation at the local March of Dimes walk. Additionally, WWHO has attempted to strength children's interest in the arts by supporting family friendly events at the Columbus Art Festival, Music in the Park and Sundays at Scioto. The station handed out kid friendly merchandise such as frisbees, fun sunglasses, etc. to enhance the family aspect of these events. WWHO has also supported community efforts to get children up and playing by supporting family oriented events at the Columbus Commons and Columbus Crew games. WWHO also airs a series of PSAs designed to promote educational achievement and safety by our children. The station also airs a series of PSAs designed to teach children about the world around them, including respecting the environment, the dangers of drugs and the importance of family values. |
