The Zula Patrol is a 3D/CG animatd show about six extraerrestrial characters--Captain Zula, his copilot Zeeter, Professor Multo and their pet, Gorgo, and their flying dictinaries and wig--who learn key science concepts as they explore the galaxy through space missions. Often, the group encounters the evil Dark Truder and his talking toupee minion, Traxie, and must thwart Truder's poorly planned schemes to take voer the universe. Each character exhibits unique abilities and traits what combined with their new knowledge, helps them problem-solve their way through their journeys. Using an integrated approach to target diverse leraning stuyles, the show communicates its educational messages through story telling and a two-part information segment at the end of each story. The show on June 9 was pre-empted due to the French Open.

Shelldon is an animated series about a school-aged yoka shell mollusk named Shelldn. He lives with his adoptive family, th Clams, in Shell Land, an undersea community populated bt all sorts of sea species. Shelldon and his best friends, Connie (a cowry shell mullusk) and Herman (a hermit crab) face a specific challenge in every episode. The problem may be managing a bully, improving their grades, learning how to be altuistic, or protecting their enviornment from natural and man-made diseasters. In all cases, they rely on Dr. Shell, the most venerated intellectual and elder in Shell Land who teaches them and gives them, opportunities to harness their potential and solve the problems. Each episode provides a direct social-emotional lesson and many episodes provide informtonal content relating to the sea life habitat of Shell Land and enviromental conversation. Pearlie is an animated comedy series based on the chldren's book series Pearlie the Park Fairy by Wendy Harmer. Pearlie is an optimistic, light-hearted fairy who sees the good in everybody, but often gets into situations because her desire to help is larger than her capacity to deliver...Aimed for an audience with the 4-8 year old range, Pearlie focuses on the importance of following the rules, using good judgement, and learning how t avoid getting into trouble. Since Pearlie was ppointed by Fairy Head Quarters (HQ) to keep Jubilee Park in sparkling order she has constant challenges with her basic goal of keeping everyone happy and making sure the park functions smoothly. Peralie's nemesis and cousin Saphira, often takes advantage of Pearlie's good nature which requires that Pearlie must also frequently utwit the park bully. In each episode, we see Pearlie approach new tasks and problems with a great deal of enthusiasm, but without the organization requred toget the job done. Through plot developments and with the assistance of hr frieds, Opal and Jasper, she learns what to do and what not to do in each situation so the park can restorede to order. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. WHAG, in conjunction with the NBC affiliation, aired a number of PSA's "The More You Know" PSA's. The April total was 80, the May total was 98 and the June total was 128. The :10 and :30 themes of these PSA's deal with the environment, tolerance, mentoring, and violence prevention. The More You Know's website (www.nbc.com/tmyk) features scripts from the award-winning public service announcements referral information for the organizations referenced in the PSA's, a general campaign over view, and educational materials produced in connection with NBC programming. The site also includes a list of the campaigns's most recent accolades. During the quarter, there were 14 news stories appropriate for children that aired on either the 5PM r 6PM newscast. The content of these stories ranged from...At the Claud E. Kichens Outdoor School in Clear Spring, 10 teams of Students from Boonsboro, Smithsburg, and Clear Spring High Schools participated in the Washington County Enviro-thon...Students in Frederick got a history lesson is the blues today. Acommplished local blues artists are visint middle and high schools in Frederick to teach students about the significance of the blues...Do you plan to send your kids to a camp this summr? When searching for a camp, there are alot of questions you should be asking. Kids Cast - every Wednesday during our 5PM newscast weather segment, a third to fifth grade school student gives out weather forecast. Children draw a picture of "Weather" and submit it to out local Kids Cast sponsor. Each week, a picture is chosen, and the child that drew it sits in on our live news set and delivers the local weather. Te child arrives early and in addition to learning about the weather, they get to see how a live newscast works "behind the scenes". During the month of April 61 30-second promos aired for the WHAG Student Athlete of the Month. During the month of May 61 promos aired, and during the month of June 61 promos aired. The community nominates the students. Then each month, a male and female athlete is chosen for their outstanding efforts in the classroom and on the field. A feature story is done on each winner and airs within the local news. Congratulations promos air during the following month. On April 5, Cub Pack 34 from Hagerstown toured the staton. They toured the news room, studio, control room and weather center. On April 11, Cub Scout Webelos Pack 13 from Martinsburg toured the station. The toured the news room and spoke with reporters, toured the studio, weather center and control room. On May 2, Tiger Cubs Pack 287 Frederck toured the station. They toured the news room, studio, weather center, and control room. On May 10, Cub Pack 64 Maugansville toured the station. They toured the news room, studio and control. They spot with a meteorologist in the weather center. On May 16, Pieter Bickford, Assistant News Director, went to Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Washington County, MD to speak to the 4th and 5th grade classes. He talked about being a reporter at WHAG. On May 21, Pieter Bickford, Assistant News Director went to Northern Middle Shool, Hagerstown, MD to speak to a group of 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes. These students were part of the Newspaper Co-curricular Club. He talked about being a television reporter and the schooling needed to get the job. On, May 24, Cub Scout Troop 95 Shady Grove toured the station. They toured the news room, studio, control room and weather center. Hugh Breslin, VP and General Manager is on the Advisory Board of the Mason Dixon Boy Scouts.
