Simulcast transmission of KQCW's digital programming is transmitted on KOTV's digital subchannel 6.2 and is identical to the digital programming report on KQCW's Form 398 Childrens Television report. KOTV broadcasts News on 6 Now on digital subchannel 6.3 effective April 1, 2011 until further notice. On September 17, 2011, the scheduled CBS network Children's Programs scheduled to air 7a-9a were recorded in a different order due to a technical problem. Busytown Mysteries I aired at 7a and the same episode aired again at 8a. Doodlebops I aired at 730a and the same episode aired again at 830a. No makegoods for these programs aired as the FCC requirements were still fulfilled. In addition to airing a schedule of educational and informational programming appropriate for children, KOTV serves this segment of the viewing audience in other ways. On-air personnel from KOTV The News on 6 make appearances before children and pre-teens in the community talking about potential careers in broadcasting and what it's like to work at a television station. KOTV also sponsors and supports various community outreach projects aimed at addressing the needs and concerns of children and pre-teens. July 4th News on 6 Night at the Drillers was a Food for Kids event. We partnered with MidFirst Bank and The Eastern Oklahoma Community Food Bank and set up a tent at ONEOK Field to collect donations. Any donation that was made entitled the person to sign up to win a $250 gift card. The winner was announced at the end of the game. News on 6 Anchors were on hand to meet and greet, Dick Faurot did live weather at 6 pm. Home and Garden Expo July 29-30 The News on 6 partnered with MidFirst Bank and The Eastern Oklahoma Food Bank to collect donations for the Food for Kids project at the Home & Garden Expo. People who made donations could enter to win a $250 Gift Card. Anchors present include Travis Meyer (live weather), Jennifer Loren, Craig Day, Rich Lenz, Terry Hood, Dick Faurot, LeAnne Taylor, Alan Crone, Lori Fullbright and Jamie McGriff. Celebrity Waiter Night - September 13 The Eastern Oklahoma Food Bank sponsored Celebrity Waiter Night during Restaurant Week. All celebrity waiter tips went directly to the Food for Kids program and 10% of the restaurant profits for the week went to Food For Kids. Anchors participating include LeAnne Taylor, Rich Lenz, Dave Davis, Jamie McGriff, Alan Crone and Travis Meyer. Tulsa Komen Race for the Cure September 17 the 15th Annual Tulsa Komen Race for the Cure was held for the first time ever at ONEOK Field in downtown Tulsa. The News on 6 is the only media partner. Six in the Morning did a live 30 minute broadcast from the race. The News on 6 had a photo tent set up and took 180 team and individual photos which were posted on our website and available for download. We produced promos inviting people to register for the race and to join "LeAnne's Team" and had 200 registrants. We also produced a 3 minute music video highlighting News on 6 Anchor, LeAnne Taylor's involvement in past races, this video closed the 30 minute special. Mayor Dewey Bartlett proclaimed September 17 "LeAnne Taylor Day" in honor of her huge commitment to finding a cure. We produced a "thank you" promo which ran the week following the race.
