On October 24, 2011 KAAL-TV secondary channel aired on 6.2 (ThisTV). KAAL-TV LLC filed their renewal application for station KAAL-TV on November 27th, 2013, File No. BRCDT 20131127AUO. The application was accepted for filing on November 29, 2013 and Granted on 06/05/2014. KAAL's morning anchors gave tour to Austism Summer Camp of the news studio and discussed with students how news casts that they see on TV is made; KAAL 10:00 anchors volunteered to help with the 4-H fundraiser for Mower County; KAAL's morning anchor was a mentor to an Austin High School studen who wants to learn about careers in broadcast/journalism.
