Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. During the first quarter, WWHO addressed the education and informational needs of children through a variety of programming, outreach activities and sponsorships of local children's events and fundraisers. WWHO sponsored a Kids Kraft corner at two local family friendly expositions, educating children on the use of green materials and how it benefits their environment and their future. WWHO also sponsored a financial literacy activity entitled Get Real. The program's primary focus is to teach middle school/high school students how to write checks, balance a checkbook, and live within a salary which is predetermined at the start of the program. The station also produced four web videos in support of the Dublin Education Foundation to assist them in obtaining grant money for the local education system. Additionally, WWHO helped to raise community awareness for Pediatric Cancer Research by supporting the Black Tie Blue Jackets event, where children stricken with the disease walk in a fashion show with NHL players to raise funding and community involvement. WWHO airs a series of PSAs designed to promote educational achievement and safety by our children. WWHO also airs other PSAs designed to teach children about the world around them, which includes series teaching children about respecting the environment, the dangers of drugs, and the importance of family values and social interaction.
