Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | WBFF continued to serve the educational and informational needs of children throughout the 4th Quarter through broadcast of programming designed for the educational and informational needs of children, airing of PSAs for non-profits, foundations and governmental agencies committed to the education, safety and social welfare of youth, productions of PSAs for local non-profits, sponsorship of special events and fundraisers to benefit children and various outreach projects. The station aired daily community calendars promoting activites for children and families in local librariaes, schools, churches, and cultural insttitutions. WBFF aired PSAs for the US Dept of Education and Transportation, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, The USDA Discover Nature, Bully Prevention Project, Partnership for Drug Free Maryland, Foundation for a Better Life. The station produced PSAs for the Baltimore City Fire Department, Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America, USMC Toys for Tots Program, and Santa Claus Anonymous. WBFF launched its 29th Annual Champions of Courage Essay Competition and received 3200+ essays from Baltimore metro area middle and high schools. The station served as the media sponsor of several special events and fundraisers for local organizations serving children including Art with a Heart which provides hands on art therapy and leadership development programs for at-risk youth populations, the Baltimore area Toys for Tots and Santa Claus Anonymous programs. The FOX45 Morning News hosted its 6th Annual Toys for Tots Roll Call for five hours collecting 2500 new toys for area disadvantaged children. Several station tours were offered to local Scout troops and schools and the Weather Kid Wednesday program offered middle and high school students the opportuity for a television experience with meteorologist Jonathan Myers for a private weather forecasting lesson and presentation of the weather on the morning news each Wednesday. Station staff participated in career days at local schools and station management continued to serve on boards of directors for local organizations serving youth and families. |
