Coat 4 Kids - In early August 2012, KXLY 4 began promoting this huge station and community event. We spearhead efforts to collect gently used coats that are cleaned and then distributed to children within the community. This year's event kicked off September 16, 2012 at the Spokane County Interstate Fair. As part of the promotion, children under 13 got in free to the Fair if they or their families donated a coat at the gate. Collection of coats lasts through October 2012, followed by distribution to children in November 2012. This year, we collected over 17,000 coats. KXLY, KXLY 4.2 and KXLY.com. PREVIEW of 1st Quarter 2013: Wednesday's Child - KXLY 4 News and anchor Robyn Nance will profile a WA or ID child that is up for adoption. We will produce and air promotions for the segment.
