The station is filing this amended report to reflect a potential commercial limits issue regarding programming supplied to it by NBC. After due review of internal station records and documentation provided to us by program suppliers, the licensee hereby certifies as follows: (i) the only programs specifically designed for children ages twelve and under that the station broadcast this quarter are disclosed in this report and (ii) except as set forth herein, the licensee fully complied with the FCC's commercial limits in children's programs, as specified at 47 C.F.R. Section 73.670, with respect to these programs. On October 12, 2013, the closing credits for "Lazytown," an educational and informational program supplied to the NBC Network by Sprout for the "NBC Kids" Saturday morning E/I block, inadvertently included a fleeting (one-half second) display of the URL for the program's web site (www.lazytown.com). We have been informed by NBC that before providing children's programming to its affiliates, the NBC Network takes precautions to avoid any potential violations of the FCC's web site rules. Specifically, each episode of the "NBC Kids" Saturday morning E/I block is reviewed by Sprout, whose policy is to remove all URLs from program materials. In this case, however, the display of the URL in the closing credits was so fleeting it was missed during the review process. The NBC Network is working with Sprout to develop and implement additional procedures to minimize the possibility of a re-occurrence of this isolated incident. |

| Describe the educational and informational objective of the program and how it meets the definition of Core Programming. | SAFARI TRACKS is an exciting and entertaining series of half-hour programs focused entirely on African wildlife. Filmed in exotic African locations, every show will explore the magnificent and mysterious world of Africa's animals, all in their natural habitat. Led by Ushaka, the show's young South African host, SAFARI TRACKS takes the viewer from the brushlands of the Savanna to the great Okavango, from the greatest game reserves to the most remote beaches of Madagascar - and beyond! We'll see everything from rare African birds to "creepy crawlers" to animal babies interacting with their mothers and siblings. SAFARI TRACKS will educate young viewers about wildlife conservation and show them how to better support efforts to protect endangered species. All of this while remaining fun, fast-paced and always surprising. |
