Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. KBFX-CD is proud to support the children of our community with a variety of community outreach projects. Many of our projects utilize our airwaves, in conjunction with the quarters' non-broadcast efforts: 5th Quarter, Hometown Sports, One Classroom At A Time, Making Strides Against Cancer Walk, Teddy Bear Toss, National Weather Association - Kern Chapter and "Guest Readers" and Club/School Tours. Each week, local public service announcements specifically designed to serve the educational and informational needs of children are scheduled to air on KBFX. A few examples are: Junior Scientist-Encourages children to explore and study hard while in school.....they could be become the next great inventor; Going to College-this PSA encourages college bound students to apply for financial assistance programs in order to help them further their education, as many are not able to afford college and will likely decide not to attend; GED Pep Talk-provides information for students who have dropped out of high school and would like to earn their GED. Our efforts are not limited to the examples listed, and more detailed information can be obtained in the station's public file.
