Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | During the third quarter, WWHO addressed the educational and informational needs of children through a variety of programming, outreach activities and sponsorship of Local children's events and fundraisers. WWHO broadcast a townhall meeting entitled Your Voice, Your Future to discuss ways to improve Ohio Public Schools with expert panelists, bringing light to the community problem and debating possible solutions. WWHO launched Thursday Night Lights, the broadcast of local high school football games live on its air. This promotes children's involvement not only in athletics, but also in academics, as student scholar athletics are celebrated during each broadcast. It also gives the highlighted schools and its student a sense of community. Additionally, WWHO supported many activites to get families spending quality time together, including Dive in Movies at Zoombezi Bay, The Ohio State Fair and Sundays at Scioto. WWHO also airs a series of PSAs designed to teach children about the world around them, including respecting the enviroment, the dangers of drugs and the importance of family values. |
