SCHOOL WEATHER TALK - January 30th at 1pm: St. Mark Lutheran - Marcy Novak, Meteorologist, spoke to 30-40 preschool children about basic weather topics, such as the sun, seasons and tornado safety. She held a Q&A at the end. BOY SCOUT WEATHER BADGE PRESENTATION - February 14th - Jeff George, Meteorologist, provided a weather presentation that helped twelve Boy Scouts receive their "Weather Badge". He performed several demonstrations and held a Q&A at the end. SEVERE WEATHER EXPO - March 7th - Penn Square Mall - The entire weather team attended and presented at the largest public weather event of the year in OKC. The weather team performed experiments for children and adults, handed our free safety videos and displayed the storm chase vehicles. CAREER FAIR - March 5th at 1:30pm: Oklahoma State University - Vicki Khalili, KOCB HR, and Shari Graham, KTUL, (Tulsa sister station) met with students to discuss their career interests and provide information about opportunities and internships in the broadcast industry. COLOR RUN 5K - March 28th at 8:00am - Marcy Novak emceed this race in Anadarko Oklahoma at the Public School Field House. This event is a fundraiser for the school's Advanced Via Individual Determination. SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS - March 28th at 10:45am - Oklahoma Gaylord College - Phil Cross, Journalist, participated in a panel for the SPJ Region conference. The talk was attended by journalism professionals and students studying journalism in Oklahoma schools and from across the state.
