"Willa's Wild Life," based on the book An Octopus Followed Me Home, by Dan Yaccarino, is an animated series centered on a six-year-old girl and her menagerie of animals. Willa lives at home with her father and pets - an elephant, a giraffe, a pair of performing seals, a bear, penguins, and lots of rabbits. In each episode, Willa faces a challenge at home, in school or in her neighborhood. With her animals and best friend Dooley as key elements of her team, Willa works on solutions to overcome her challenge. Together they find ways to maintain healthy friendships, experience success, develop competence, and become altruistic. With help from her animal friends, Willa figures out how to earn the things she wants by helping others. She learns to appreciate the friends that she has rather than trying to change to fit in with the "cool" group. She realizes that asking questions is better than jumping to conclusions. Whether at school, home or in the neighborhood, Willa finds a way to analyze her situation and learn from experience.

PEARLIE recounts the weekly escapades of an optimistic, amiable fairy who has been appointed by Fairy HQ to maintain order in Jubilee Park. She lives among a dozen assorted characters, including her fairy best friends, Opal and Jasper, a garden elf, a wood nymph, possum, bats, other fairies, rats, a small colony of fleas, a lizard and her arch-rival, Saphira, who is also her fairy cousin. While Pearlie is very likable, she is a bit of a busy-body who likes to arrange things according to over-ambitious plans that ultimately get her in trouble. She gets along with everyone so, ultimately, every problem is solved and Pearlie learns a lesson. However, her greatest challenges are usually presented by her one enemy, the bully and diva, Saphira. Fortunately, Pearlie rises to Saphira's challenges, not with meanness, but by outwitting her. Overall, learning is a constant process for Pearlie because she has big responsibilities, taking care of an entire little community, but she is indomitable and tenacious and ends up preserving order and happiness in Jubilee Park.

This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. K32DY: This Class A translator was converted to a digital broadcast signal at 12pm on Wednesday, September 21. Prior to the conversion, it broadcast the analog signal of KOBI-TV. After the conversion, it broadcast the digital signals of both KOBI-TV (5.1) and NBC5 WX Now (5.2). *************************************** KOBI-TV, parent channel of K32DY, is very active in the community. Our staff regularly offers tours of the station and speaks to students at their schools, career days, etc. ******************** Academic Challenge: Airing at 6:30pm on Sundays, this year's season started on October 16, 2011. A half hour show, Academic Challenge features student teams from 20 Southern Oregon and Northern California High Schools. Teams are asked history, math, English, geography and other academic questions. This is a double elimination tournament and the final two teams will play not only for the championship, but the winners will also be awarded scholarship money. ********************** Southern Oregon Meth Project: Created by NBC 5 and NBC 2, our main goal is to considerably decrease the prevalence of first time Meth users in Southern Oregon, with the primary focus being children. This initiative has won an Emmy, the National Association of Broadcasters Service to America Award, along with several state and regional awards. Visit www.southernoregonmeth.org *********************** Are You Ready? NBC 5 and NBC 2 along with several partners brought the "Are You Ready?" campaign to Southern Oregon to encourage people to finish their education and to build responsible citizens who are informed, engaged, connected, caring, and work- ready. Through numerous platforms we inform, educate, and engage students, community members, businesses and organizations in our efforts. *********************** YES (Youth, Education, Success): KOBI-TV/NBC5, KOTI-TV/NBC2 and their partners launched YES (Youth Education Success) in January of 2012. Participating businesses will donate a portion of their earnings one day a month to fund extracurricular activities, classroom supplies and programs for public schools in our region. Through YES, schools can access a portion of the overall collected funds by applying for YES Grants. ************************************ KOBI-TV/KOTI/K32DY 5.1: On Sunday, January 15 Willa's Wildlife and Pearlie were scheduled to air at 9am and 9:30am respectively. The shows were accidentally deleted prior to air and were no longer available, so board op aired Magic School Bus and Babar in their place. On Sunday, March 10, Pearlie was scheduled on the log to air at 5:30pm. Unfortunately, out listings were not correct and showed that Missing was scheduled in that time period. Pearlie is what aired. On Sunday, March 17, Pearlie was scheduled to air at 3:30pm. Due to a sports over-run, the show actually aired at 4:09pm. On Sunday, March 25, Willa's Wildlife and Pearlie were scheduled to air at 9am and 9:30am respectively. The shows were accidentally deleted prior to air and were no longer available, so board op aired Dog Tales and Missing in their place. ************************************* NBC5 WX Now 5.2 On 3/24, the WX Now computer fell out of sync and programs did not air at their scheduled times. Real Life 101 (scheduled to air at 11am) aired early at 10:54am, Passport to Explore (scheduled to air at 11:30am) aired at 11:08am, Aqua Kids (scheduled to air at 1pm) aired at 12:54pm and Missing (scheduled to air at 1:30pm) aired at 1:24pm.
