Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | ANGEL TREE - The KUTV 2News Salvation Army Angel Tree program is a statewide holiday promotion designed to help underprivileged children and seniors. This year, KUTV worked with Shopko, Cyprus, Les Olson, Ancestry.com and IMFlash to help enhance the tremendous efforts of the Salvation Army in providing a very special holiday season to those children and seniors in need. Throughout the promotion, trees laden with "angels" were placed in all the Shopko stores and Cyprus Credit Union locations along the Wasatch Front from Logan to Spanish Fork as well as the other sponsor locations. Each angel contained the wish list of a needy child or senior. Citizens "adopted" angels from the tree and provided gifts as indicated on their "adoption card" thus giving gifts children and seniors would not receive otherwise. The promotion was supported with an extensive on-air campaign which included production, Internet inclusion, on-site collateral and staffing, and news coverage. CHECK YOUR HEALTH - ongoing campaign - KUTV solidified the long term working relationship with the Department of Health & Intermountain Healthcare for Check Your Health and Baby Your Baby. Check Your Health is a campaign that includes media coverage on KUTV & with the Simmons radio group. Commercials and stories are run that encourage viewers to make good health choices, be active and eat healthy. This campaign has a broad range that we are trying to reach; male, female, old and young. BABY YOUR BABY - on going campaign - this campaign focuses on women 18-35, sharing the message of seeing your doctor 13 times during your pregnancy and by the 13th week you are pregnant. We cover stories, have in studio interviews and maintain multiple social media platforms that encourage women to participate in pre-natal and post-delivery care. |
