Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. During the fourth quarter, WWHO addressed the educational amd informational needs of children through a variety of programming, outreach activities and sponsorship of local children's events and fundraisers. WWHO continued Thursday Night Lights, the broadcast of local high school football games live on its air. This promotes children's involvement not only in athletics, but also in academics, as student scholar athletes were celebrated during each broadcast. Thursday Night Lights also highlighted the individual schools and helped one of them to secure grant money at season's end, giving the students a sense of community and the message that anything is possible with hard work. WWHO also hosted local boy scout troops for tours and description of station operation to spark education interest and promote good communication skills. Additionally, WWHO teamed up with Franklin County Children's Services Holiday Wish program to help underpriviledged children receive holidays gifts from the community through website and on-air call to action messages. WWHO also airs a series of PSAs designed to teach children about the world around them, including respecting the environment, the dangers of drugs and the importance of family values.
