WCHS continues to support the community airing numerous Public Service announcements designed to inform viewers of health and safety issues, drug prevention, and the importance of education and the environment.During the third quarter of 2014 WCHS covered several severe weather events, including one significant storm that produced flooding on Charleston's west side. Our meteorologists generated and delivered emergency information that viewers in our area needed to be aware of. We sponsored the Hunting and Fishing Show, manning a booth and offering information about WV's natural resources. We've produced several stories informing viewers about political candidates and issues that voters will need to know about when they head to the polls in November. We teamed up with the Union Mission for our annual food drive. We teamed up with the WV Troopers Association to help raise money to go towards the Ronald McDonald House in Charleston that houses families who have sick children in local hospitals. We teamed up with The American Heart Association in their annual heath walk to take stand against heart disease.
