The fictional city Busytown is an enchanting place thats abuzz with energy and life. Episodes are divided into multiple segments with different themes. The middle segment shows children life in other cities featuring daily activities of adult characters in places such as Paris or Rome. Each episode includes two song segments in which the first, Imagine That, teaches various things like general science to how banks work. The second song segment that teaches safety is called Play it Safe. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | During the first quarter, 2011, WBFF continued its commitment to childrens educational and informational needs both through broadcast and outreach efforts. The station continued to produce and air PSAs for local non-profit and governmental agencies including the Baltimore Office of Promotion and Arts, Baltimore City and County Public Schools, Maryland Mentoring Partnership, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Maryland, CollegeBound Foundation, South Baltimore Learning Center, Baltimore City Fire Department and Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America. Additionally, WBFF airs daily community calendars that promote local events designed for children and families and continued to air national PSAs focusing on childhood obesity prevention, literacy, energy conservation, and youth development programs. During the 1st quarter, WBFF presented its 24th annual Champions of Courage Black History Month Essay Competition. More than 4000 entries were received from metro area students grades 6 through 12. Twenty winners were selected and the student taped their salute to their personal Champion of Courage, someone who inspired them by sharing the legacy of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Students and community champions were honored at awards luncheon with keynote speaker, Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, President of University of Maryland Baltimore County and a "child" freedom fighter who participated in the Birmingham civil rights movements in the 60s. It was also in 1st quarter 2011 that WBFF launched is 7th Annual CollegeBound Scholar of the Week salutes. The program kicked off in March and continues through the graduation season saluting a Baltimore City high school student for their academic, athletic, leadership and community service achievements. On March 12th, WBFF staged its 2nd Annual B'More Healthy Expo which attracted 25,000 to the Baltimore Convention Center. The expo showcased what all ages can do to take actions and make choices to be more healthy. Free health screenings were offered as well as educational and entertainment venues to create awareness and motivation to be more healthy. Children's health was showcased from fit and fun kids presented by the YMCA of Central Maryland, dance lessons ranging from hi-hop to square-dancing, outdoor environmental education with the Boy Scouts, coaching sessions with members of the Baltimore Blast indoor Soccer team and former Harlem Globetrotters Choo Smith, gymnastics shows by the University of Maryland Gymkana troupe that showcased not only athletic and acrobatic skills but drug-free, healthy living. A Safety Zone was presented by the Baltimore City Fire Department and Johns Hopkins School of Public Health to promote safe homes and injury prevention through an interactive learning experience. Kids ID fingerprinting was offered by New York Life and a myriad of activities showcasing fresh foods, healthy food choices, childhood health, lead poisoning prevention and other health issues engaged children and their families. Station management and news talent continued to serve on local board of directors for non-profits including Fit Families Foundation, Mental Health Association of Baltimore and South Baltimore Learning Center. WBFF also provided educational tours for local Scout troops and schools. |

The fictional city Busytown is an enchanting place thats abuzz with energy and life. Episodes are divided into multiple segments with different themes. The first and last segments involve the children in Busytown exploring their community. At the end of each segment the children have learned a little about their community and the world they live in. The middle segment shows children life in other cities featuring daily activities of adult characters in places such as Paris or Rome. Each episode includes two song segments in which the first, Imagine That, teaches various things like general science to how banks work. The second song segment that teaches safety is called Play it Safe.
