Using humor as a tool to drive each episode's storyline, The Bill Cosby Show featured Bill Cosby as the main character, Chet Kincaid, whose character experienced and dealt with everyday successes and failures and moved seamlessly through the social milieu of the late 1960s/early 1970s as a teacher, friend, family member, and colleague. Episodes invariably focus on a life lesson, where high social values and appropriate and non-stereotypical cultural experiences and ideals are displayed and modeled for the teenage viewing audience. For the modern teen viewer, the programs serve as mini "studies" of the American (especially African-American) socio-cultural landscape of the late '60s/early '70s.

Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. This report is being amended on September 13, 2011, to specify children's educational and informational programming that aired on the station's multicast channel but that was inadvertently omitted from the original, timely-filed report. The licensee has answered Item 8(b) as "zero" because during the quarter, the station's multicast children's educational and informational programs did not meet all elements to satisfy the legal definition of "Core." As described in Section 12, the station averaged seven hours per week of non-core children's educational and informational programming. As such, the station aired a package of different types of educational and informational programming that clearly demonstrates a level of commitment to educating and informing children that satisfies the Children's Television Act at least as well as any station that aired three hours of "Core" programming.
