The station participated in the Grand Day Parade on January 29th and the Torchlight Parade on February 5th. The Extra Credit Question features a first through fifth grade student who is nominated by viewers to read the extra credit question at 530pm on Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader each Monday through Friday. The Minnesota Globe of Business teamed up with WUCW to create a way for viewers to nominate an outstanding Junior or Senior High School student to be featured in the end credits of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader Honor Roll one time per week. WUCW aired the following public service announcements that are geared towards children; preventing forest fires, being positive, Drug Free America, eating healthy, anti-smoking, clean hands are cool hands, Boystown, PETA, Special Needs Kids, cyberbullying, the importance of exercise, explore the outdoors, be innovative and creative, stay in school and volunteering.
