Animal trainer, Brandon McMillan operates a training facility known as the Lucky Dog Ranch where his mission is to rescue hard-to love and untrained dogs and find them homes. The show focuses on exercising responsibility and on developing a sense of appreciation for life and animals. Life lessons are an integral part of the theme of rescuing these animals from death and providing a second chance for life. In order to accomplish his goal, McMillan must investigate what each animal needs to find the appropriate method to retrain them so that they will make welcome members in a family. Students saw the news studio as well as the outside facilities. Dan Magruder presented the tour; Carl Davis and Christopher Blodgett assisted. April 3, 2014 Forty 2nd grade students from the Kirksville Primary School visited and toured the Kirksville KTVO Studios. Students saw the news studio as well as the outside facilities. Dan Magruder presented the tour. April 4, 2014 Kate Allt and Kamady Rudd appeared at Davis County Elementary School. They helped the students film a newscast they had written and showed them how to shoot stories. April 8, 2014 Marlene Speas, News Director, emceed the annual art show sponsored by the Kirksville Regional Center. It featured artwork created by those with developmental disabilities. Artists from eight area counties were represented. It was held in the commons area of A.T. Still University. April 10, 2014 On Thursday April 10, 2014, 40 children from the Early Childhood Development Center in Kirksville visited the Kirksville KTVO studios. Students toured the news studio and had weather related questions answered by Ela Soroka and Samantha Croix. Brian Wise also assisted in the tour. April 13, 2014 Assistant News Director, Andrew Grove, gave a presentation to Davis County Elementary third graders on Tuesday, April 13. He talked about being a reporter and public speaking tips. May 1, 2014 On May 1, 2014, 40 second graders from Kirksville Primary School toured the KTVO Studios in Kirksville. Students toured the news studio and outside facilities. Dan Magruder presented to the group. May 2, 2014 On May 2, 2014, 40 second and third graders from Adair County R-1 Schools in Novinger toured the KTVO Studios in Kirksville. May 3, 2014 On Saturday May 3, 2014 Nate Masullo gave a tour of the Ottumwa bureau to a local cub scout troop, roughly six five year old scouts. They were there about a half hour. June 2, 2014 On Monday, June 2, 2014, 50 kids from the Adair County Family YMCA Summer Program visited and toured the KTVO Studios in Kirksville. June 3, 2014 On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, 50 kids from the Adair County Family YMCA Summer Program visited and toured the KTVO Studios in Kirksville.
