Emphasis is placed upon protecting endangered species and the impact humans have while interacting in their environment. Each episode is specific to a particular animal with topics ranging from basic food gathering, mating, natural enemies, relationship to other animals, and the interaction of the specific ecology on the survival of the species. The overarching goal is for viewers to achieve a greater understanding of nature and specific animal species through the up-close and detailed photography that is utilized in the series. It is hoped that children will better relate to the natural environment as it exists in North America and learn to protect its natural species.
