Following are examples of non broadcast efforts made by KOMU-TV: KOMU-TV sponsorships involve producing and running spots promoting the events and enabling their success. Events benefiting children sponsored in part by KOMU-TV include: Clean Up Columbia, Float Your Boat for the Food Bank, City of Columbia's Family FunFest and Sunsense. Career Day/Partners in Education KOMU-TV staff members are often involved in local efforts for career education in Mid-Missouri. On-air personalities visit area schools where they speak about journalism and broadcasting. Station Visits/Tours: KOMU-TV is often contacted by schools and children's activity groups with requests for station tours. The children are escorted through the building and the various operations are explained to them. We often assist scouting groups with information necessary to help them obtain merit badges. KOMU-TV will continue to participate in the above mentioned activities and to seek additional non-broadcast ways to assist children ages 16 and under in central Missouri.
