Life lessons are an integral part of the theme of rescuing these animals from death and providing a second chance for life. In order to accomplish his goal, McMillan must investigate what each animal needs to find the appropriate method to retrain them so that they will make welcome members in a family. Through watching his interaction with these animals, the viewer is encouraged to be sensitive to our own and other's behavior as well as showing how we as individuals can make a difference.
