We are partnered with an outstanding organization, Intermountain Healthcare. Collectively we work to create a state where all Utahns can live, grow and prosper in healthy and happy communities. In conjunction with Intermountain Healthcare, KUTV holds an Ask the Expert event once a month, on the second Tuesday. During these infothons, viewers are encouraged to call in and seek free medical advice from Intermountain professionals. Spots run on all three stations KUTV, KMYU, KJZZ. On KUTV, we do a story in the 6-8a show, two hits in the noon, one hit at 3pm and one hit in the 4pm and 5pm news. In December, the Ask the Expert campaign addresses open enrollment. In January, we will focus on health living, healthy weight. We cover news stories, have in studio interviews and maintain multiple social media platforms. We just finished a new spot discussing safe sleep for babies. Day of Thanks For twenty years KUTV rallied the community to help the needy during the Thanksgiving season. Channel 2 worked closely with the Utah Food Bank to encourage viewers and corporations alike to donate food and money. KUTV was out in force live, from participating grocery stores Harmons Grocery Store Chain and Smiths Grocery Store Chain, the day of the event. Angel Tree We kicked off our 26th year of Salvation Army Angel Tree. This campaign ties in six sponsors, from all verticals, to help promote a broad community program. We helped provide Christmas presents to nearly 10,000 Utah children and senior citizens in need. Campaign spots started running in November. Also, Christmas trees went up, at all our sponsor locations, adorned with ornaments listing the names of the needy and their holiday present wish and needs list. The Angel Tree program included an aggressive television and web schedule as well as strong viewer involvement. This is always the premier and most anticipated event of the year for KUTV families as well as friends and family of our sponsors.
