On July 4th WOAI was proud to support the 4th festivities at Woodlawn Park. We had an onsite booth with giveaways. On air personality Cleto Rodriquez and Meteorologist Chris Suchan hosted the event. WOAI along with KABB and KMYS aired a free PSA schedule that values $20,000 to support the event. On September 21-22 WOAI sponsored JazzAlive the annual Jazz Festival at Travis Park located in downtown San Antonio. Anchor Randy Beamer and Sports Anchor Don Harris introduced acts from the stage. Folks could also mingle with our on air team at the station booth. WOAI along with KABB and KMYS provided free PSA schedules valued at $27,000. And lastly in September WOAI launched the Dream Home Sell A Thon and PSA schedule. The Dream Home Sell A Thon will benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital. "America's Heartland" provides information about the people and processes responsible for the availability of food and fuel across the country and around the world. The show's reporters and producers tell stories in topics that include farm families, consumer issues, animal welfare and crop sustainability. Children will learn about the production of the food and fuel they consume. Some episodes also take the show abroad to countries such as Egypt and Taiwan, to show the impact American agriculture has on the global economy.
