Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. One or more episodes of children's programming that was preempted during the quarter was not rescheduled. The Digital Core Programming Summary section of this report would not permit the station to include preemption reports for such unrescheduled preemptions, and FCC Staff has advised that no preemption report for such unrescheduled episodes is necessary. ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2018 CORE PROGRAMS "THE INSPECTORS" AND "LUCKY DOG 2" WERE PRE-EMPTED FROM THEIR REGULARLY SCHEDULED TIMES OF 11:30 AM AND 12 NOON TO AIR BREAKING NEWS COVERAGE OF THE FUNERAL PROCEEDINGS OF AMERICAN HERO AND SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN. OTHER PRE-EMPTED CORE PROGRAMS, "LUCKY DOG", "DR. CHRIS PET VET", AND "INNOVATION NATION" WAS RESCHEDULED TO THEIR SECOND HOME ON THE SAME DAY AND ARE SO NOTED IN THE PROGRAM SUMMARY SECTION. WLKY routinely provides tours for local students and student shadow sessions to point out broadcast opportunities. Children Liaison Director, Debbie Roberson, is a member of the Jefferson County Public School Advisory Board and served on the committee that redesigned the Communication, Arts and Media magnet school curriculum for three area high schools. Through this partnership, station staff has visited Ballard High School's communication class, assisting with their media school projects and speaking about the various career opportunities in broadcasting. This is one of the high schools participating in this magnet program. On May 1st, the winners of the "Don't Let Then Die" PSA challenge was announced. This was a state-wide contest launched by Gov. Bevin with WLKY as the Media Partner. Teams of students were encouraged to develop an integral marketing and advertising campaign to bring attention to addiction treatment resources. More than two dozen entries from across the state were judged. WLKY collaborated with the winning school team and produced a PSA spot, which is now part of our regularly scheduled PSA library; in addition, the PSA has been distributed to television stations throughout the state of Kentucky.
