The half-hour weekly series, Sea Rescue, features the rescue, rehabilitation and - in many instances - release back into the wild of ocean wildlife. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. Station WZVN has a commitment to air public service announcements that specifically address issues facing young people. Examples of these PSAs include cyber bullying, internet safety, reckless driving, smoking, etc. WZVN participates in the STEM program, a collaboration between area businesses and school systems to promote the advancement of educational training and specialization in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. WZVN anchors and reporters are also available for classroom visits throughout the school year. Additionally, numerous WZVN representatives are active throughout the community, some in high profile, decision rendering roles, serving on public service and charity organization committees and boards and or volunteering through nonprofit groups that specifically promote the well being of our area youth. Upon request classrooms and organizations can tour the station facilities gathering information on how the departments work and potential careers to consider in the industry. Once again, the station was a pacesetter company in the United Way drive in October, raising more than 41 thousand dollars in support of area agencies, many that specifically support the youth in the community including after school programs, mentoring, healthy meals for underprivileged children, financial support for education, protecting the rights of children, abuse counseling and more.

The half-hour weekly series, Sea Rescue, features the rescue, rehabilitation and - in many instances - release back into the wild of ocean wildlife. Produced for ages 13-16, Sea Rescue offers educational and entertaining television by demonstrating the welfare and medical benefits that rescue and rehabilitation programs provide animals. Viewers will also learn that there's a reciprocal benefit: rescued animals provide valuable insight into their biology and ecology. This information adds to the pool of knowledge necessary to conserve threatened and endangered species. Each week, Sea Rescue will leave its audience inspired by the real-life stories of the featured animals and rescuers and with a fuller understanding of the rich array of sea life with which we share our planet.
