THE LATTER IS USED IN THIS REPORT TO IDENTIFY THE PROGRAMS AIRING ON EACH OF ITS MAIN AND MULTICAST STREAMS. WNCF airs two non-core programs each Saturday morning starting at 6 A.M. As a rule, no local commercials are placed in any E/I or non-core programming on the station. Elementary school students from local schools in the River Region will recite the Pledge of Allegiance during the early morning news program on Monday - Friday in the Fourth Quarter. Future Weather Forecasters will start again in the First Quarter. During this summer, students in an interactive STEM Program at an elementary school were featured during our newscasts. After drawing up their own designs, they used Legos and other toys to build them and learned computer coding to make the creations move. Organizers say the camp help improve critical thinking and problem solving skills to help kids develop a love of science. The first Camp Kids Groove Music Concert was held at Lee High School. Kids sang, danced, and showed off their skills on the piano and guitar. The academy offers group and private music lessons designed to ensure each student develops a lifelong relationship with music. Several other stories on education aired as well, including parents meeting the MPS Superintendent, the equality of education in MPS, school start dates, cutting the ribbon on a new multi-million dollar LAMP school, and teachers in Troy educating students on the solar eclipse. WNCF will continue to provide the best E/I programming that is available for the youth in the River Region. |

The series shows children actively solving problems using scientific principles, combining skill and creativity. The series also demonstrates real world applications for math, science and engineering, proving that the physical sciences can be useful, challenging and fun. Each episode presents and "Invent-off" challenge where teenage teams must invent a machine designed to perform a specific task in limited amount of time, promoting creative thinking and practical skills. They are given the same material to work with, with each team taming their own novel approach to solving the problem, demonstrating their skills in design, physics and electronics. Career Day provides an avenue to view experts in their respective fields as they discuss their work, the education/training needed to prepare for the job, and the experiences that led them to choose their career. To encourage students to make informed decisions, they must be introduced to career awareness, such as the concept that success in most careers requires education and training. Middle school is an ideal age at which to expose students to the challenging world of work. The program's motivational and inspirational message of each guest empowers audiences of all ages to investigate career opportunities, which has been proven to enhance academic performance, facilitate high school completion and encourage postsecondary education.
