WXIX-TV is also involved in a variety of ongoing and seasonal non-broadcast activities such as career day presentations, community festivals, and promoting severe weather awareness and safety. Due to extended coverage of breaking local news on Sunday, March 26, 2017, the following programs were preempted in their entirety - On the Spot (7-7:30AM), Zoo Clues (7:30-8AM), Biz Kid$ (11-11:30AM) and Coolest Places on Earth (11:30AM-12PM). These programs were rescheduled to other core time periods within seven days, and promotional efforts were made to alert viewers to the make-good time periods.
