On October 24, 2011 KAAL-TV secondary channel aired on 6.2 (ThisTV). Non-Broadcast efforts: KAAL anchor was a celebrity guest reader at Jefferson Elementary School, Rochester MN during Dr. Seuss week. KAAL anchor read to Kasson/Mantorville MN elementary school class for "I love to Read month". KAAL anchor was the Celebrity Editor and writing coach for helping 5th grade students at Longfellow Elementary School in Rochester MN. KAAL Chief Meteorologist, morning & weekend Meteorologists conducted a weather lab at Albert Lea MN Lakeview Elementary School (2nd graders). They conducted weather science experiments and discussed weather safety during floods & tornadoes.
