In each episode Chica develops or encounters a problem that she cannot immediately resolve. Usually her issues involve impulse control, distractibility, judgment, and inter-personal behaviors. She and Kelly usually work on the problem through an adventure - a fantasy transformation to animation - where Bunji and Stitches come alive and join Chica and Kelly for the problem solving process. The core educational content is primarily socio-emotional development, and Chica learns how to express herself properly, think before she acts, and interact with others effectively. She often learns that it takes hard work and practice to become proficient at different skills. |

Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | Please note: due to breaking news of Fidel Castro's death, all children's programming was pre-empted on Saturday, 11/26/16. Per Telemundo network, the shows, Noodle & Doodle 8am, El Show de Chica 8:30am & 9am, Nina's World 9:30am & 10am, and Lazytown 10:30am were pre-empted due to this breaking news and were not able to be re-scheduled. In addition, due to a technical error, the E/I series, "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures", "Outback Adventures with Tim Faulkner", "Reluctantly Healthy", and "Food For Thought with Claire Thomas", aired on LAFF 17.4 from 9/10/16 through 10/15/16 without an E/I symbol appearing within the programs. In total, 10.5 hours of E/I programming did not include an E/I symbol. The technical issue was resolved, and all regularly scheduled LAFF E/I programming has included the E/I symbol as of 10/22/16. LAFF also has established new processes to ensure that the issue does not recur. To address any possible concerns about compliance with FCC requirements for E/I programming, LAFF has re-broadcast the 10.5 hours of E/I programming that originally aired with an E/I symbol, plus one additional half-hour of E/I programming, for a total of 11 hours of E/I programming in addition to LAFF's regularly scheduled E/I programming. The additional E/I programming aired each Saturday, immediately following LAFF's regularly scheduled E/I programming, for six consecutive weeks beginning 10/29/16 through 12/3/16, from 7am-9am PT (10am-12noon ET), as included in the Non-Core Educational & Informational Programming Summary within this report, and documented in an attachment PDF, also within this report. In each episode Chica develops or encounters a problem that she cannot immediately resolve. Usually her issues involve impulse control, distractibility, judgment, and inter-personal behaviors. She and Kelly usually work on the problem through an adventure - fantasy transformation to animation - where Bunji and Stitches come alive and join Chica and Kelly for the problem solving process. The core educational content is primarily socio-emotional development as Chica learns how to express herself properly, think before she acts, and interact with others effectively.
