No local commercials are placed in any of the syndicated children's programs. Local time is filled with public service announcements targeting the youth, their parents, and care-givers. Each Monday - Friday different elementary school classes in the River Region area were featured giving the Pledge of Allegiance during the station's Early Morning News Program. Children from 6 to 12 years old auditioned to become a Future Weather Forecaster on the stations. 12 winners were chosen, and appeared on the early morning news program with Ryan Stinnett each Friday to give the weather. Golden Apple Awards were presented to teachers at Park Crossing, T.S. Morris Elementary, Highland Avenue Elementary, and Flowers Elementary in Montgomery; J.E. Hobbs Elementary in Wilcox county, Prattville High in Autauta County, and Goshen Elementary in Pike County. Teachers receiving the awards, their co-workers and some of their students were interviewed. Many of the teachers were nominated by their teachers who said they make school and learning fun; they are encouraged to do their best; the teachers challenge and help them; they are told never to give up and they can accomplish anything they want to; they make learning easy and lets them laugh; they are passionate about what they teach them; their teacher is their biggest supporter; they encourage the students to try new things. The news aired several stories on education where students were featured on Walk to School Day, during a Brain Brawl Competition, an Academic Cup Competition, and one where bicycle donations were awarded for behavior, attendance, and the use of conflict resolutions. Stories also informed parents about Charter schools, Parental Participation, a Career Tech program, Alabama Math and Science scores, etc. The station will continue to highlight the accomplishments of the River Region's youth and to provide the best E/I programming that is available.
