Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | Children First is a yearlong effort with KFSN/ABC30 and its partners - Valley Children's Hospital, Educational Employees Credit Union, and Tulare County Office of Education - which focuses on the challenges, problems and opportunities facing children and youth. KFSN's involvement in Children First includes local news-produced half-hour programs, 30-second vignettes and public service announcements (PSAs) that included such topics as "Teach Kindness: Help those in Need," "FCOE Think Health," "Honored Scholars," "Kids and Ag" and "Self-Care Avoid Burn-out," along with special reports on Action News (all on 30.1). KFSN also aired approximately 1,675 PSAs on 30.1, including "Pint for Pint Blood Drive," "Back Pack Giveaway," "Hispanic Heritage Month," "Disney: Summer of Service," Make A Wish Benefit," "and "Valley Children's Hospital Telethon," to name a few. The Live Well Network (30.2) also aired PSAs geared towards children and their families throughout the quarter. The LAFF Network (30.3) also aired PSAs geared towards children and their families throughout the quarter. Due to a technical error at the LAFF TV network, the E/I series Reluctantly Healthy (D3) supplied to KFSN by LAFF TV was delivered and aired without the requisite E/I symbol on 9/10/16, 9/17/16 and 9/24/16. LAFF TV has informed KFSN that the technical issue has now been resolved and all regularly scheduled programming has included the E/I symbol as of 10/22/16 and that LAFF TV has established new processes to ensure the technical issue does not recur. KFSN submits this Amendment to update this Childrens Report accordingly. |
