In this weekly half hour series, Richard uncovers amazing faces of nature and man made treasures. Wiese takes the role of the ultimate Social Studies teacher to a new level, bringing the viewing audience to the places and people of our world who form our cultures. In South Carolina. Richard meets some four legged athletes who are making a big splash as they compete in water events to see who can jump higher and swim faster they are known as Dock Dogs, Richard Wiese travels from Botswana to South Africa and Tanzania to Namibia in search of the wildlife that defines the African safari, and Wiese visits one of the worlds most unique and breathtaking wildlife reserve, the LEO Zoological Conservation Center in Greenwich CT, which houses more than 50 species, including cheetahs, orangutans, giraffes, penguins, kangaroos, monkeys and camels. Produced for ages 13-16, Sea Rescue offers educational and entertaining television by demonstrating the welfare and medical benefits that rescue and rehabilitation programs provide animals. Viewers will also learn that there's a reciprocal benefit: rescued animals provide valuable insight into their biology and place in ecology. This information adds to the pool of knowledge necessary to conserve and preserve threatened and endangered species. This quarter rescue teams in Maui respond to a young, emaciated humpback whale severely entangled in heavy gauge line, a rare leatherback sea turtle stranded in South Carolina and rescuers hope this will become the first successfully rescued, rehabilitated and returned leatherback in state history, a mysterious substance appears in the San Francisco Bay and threatens the lives of hundreds of sea birds. A young harbor seal is brought into SeaWorld San Diego with a broken back and a mysterious illness, and rescuers wade in to help a badly sunburned dolphin stranded on a sandbar.

Station WZVN has a commitment to air public service announcements that specifically address issues facing young people such as cyber bullying, internet safety, health hazards of smoking, texting while driving, school bus stop safety, stranger danger and other perils community youngsters encounter. WZVN supports the STEM program locally, a collaboration between area businesses and school systems to promote the advancement of educational training and specialization in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics with onsite education paths in the broadcasting industry for both teachers and students. WZVN news anchors, reporters , meteorologists and management are also available for classroom visits throughout the school year and other speaking engagements for various groups and organizations. Additionally, numerous WZVN representatives are active throughout the community, some in high profile, decision rendering roles, serving on public service and charity organization committees and boards and volunteering through non profit groups that specifically promote the well being of our area youth.
