WBFF continued to the serve the educational and informational needs of children throughout the Third Quarter 2016 through broadcast and outreach activities. Addressing the ascertained needs of the local community, WBFF created, produced and broadcast public service announcements addressing childrens summer learning, summer reading, summer meals and nutrition, enrichment opportunities, the importance of engagement with nature and outdoor play. The station worked with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, The Family League, Baltimore Grade Level Reading, The Fund for Educational Excellence, and The Maryland Family Network to create broadcast campaigns addressing these needs. The station continued to air PSAs for local and national organizations serving the interests of children including spots for the Reading is Fundamental, CollegeBound Foundation, US Forest Service, Dept of Health and Human Services, Dept of Education, Boy Scouts, Baltimore City Fire Department, local libraries and schools. The station airs a community calendar featuring activities and programs of interest to children and their families. The station continued to offer station tours to local day camps and church youth groups. Staff meteorologists presented weather lessons at summer camps. Station management served on several local boards of directors for non-profits serving youth. WBFF provided media sponsorship to The Family Tree, Baltimore Area Boy Scouts of America, The Annapolis Maritime Museum, The Baltimore County African American Cultural Festival, Towson University Department of Dance, and Pathfinders for Autism during this quarter.
