On October 24, 2011 KAAL-TV secondary channel aired on 6.2 (ThisTV). KAAL's morning anchor was a celebrity guest at Pinewood Elementary School in Rochester MN discussed with students what she does on TV. KAAL's reporter did Broadcast News presentation for the Austin HS "Channel 4 News" Journalism class in Austin MN. He discussed news production, selection, equipment, philosophy and kinds of classes that would be helpful for students considering news careers. KAAL's weekend anchor was a guest judge for 5th grade Future Chefs competition at Lincoln Elementary School in Faribault MN.
