See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | During the quarter there were19 news stories appropriate for children that aired on either the 5PM or 6PM newscast. The content of the stories ranged from: Robots of all shapes and sizes were made by a group of kids in Montgomery County when the Kid Museum hosted coding camp for advanced students...For the Kids, By George is a children museum in Martinsburg, WV and is the product of the Washington Heritage Trail...Students at Wildwood Middle School started were welcome back with a little twist. A square Dance group danced as students watched and learned how it was done with just a short demonstration. On July 24, a group from the Laurel Hall school toured the station and watched the live noon news. Kids Cast - Every Wednesday during our 5PM newscast weather segment, a third through fifth grade school student gives our weather forecast. Children draw a picture of " weather events" and submits it to our local kids cast sponsors. Each week, a picture is chosen and the child that drew that picture sits on our live news set and delivers the weather for the School Bus forecast. The child arrives early, and in addition to learning about the weather, they get to see how a live newscast works "behind the scenes." During the Month of April there were 61 30-second promos that aired for the Play of the Week. Each week, a different male or female athlete is chosen as our Play of the Week. During the month of May 61 30-second promos were aired. And during the month of June 61 30-second promos aired promoting Play of the Week. On April 11, a group from Western Heights Middle School toured the station. They toured the news room, studio and control room. On April 25, a group from Frederick High School toured the station. They toured the news room, studio and control room. They also got to watch a live newscast. On April 26, a group from the Daily Companion of Martinsburg toured the station. They toured the news room, studio and control room. On May 22, a group from Waynesboro High School toured the station. They toured the news room, studio and control room. |
