During this quarter, WJAC aired public service announcements that addressed the topics important for young people, such as practicing good manners, developing confidence, caring, patience, and respecting others. In addition, spots about drinking and driving, texting and driving, addiction, and resources for teens also aired. Spots promoting autism awareness, adoption, and mentoring programs such as Big Brothers-Big Sisters also aired. WJAC-TV on-air personalities made several personal appearances this quarter at sites throughout the viewing area. On August 25th, Meteorologist Mary Ours hosted WJAC Days at Idlewild Amusement Park, talking to kids about her position as a meteorologist and demonstrating green screen technology. On September 5th, Meteorologist Breynne Guy visited the Childrens Aid Home of Somerset to explain TV weather forecasting. She answered lots of questions about hurricanes and helped the kids understand weather phenomena.
