Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. WHEC-TV participates in a project whereby local high school seniors are nominated to be the News10NBC Scholar Athlete of the week. Every Tuesday our sports-team selects a unique senior who not only holds an 85 or higher average academically, but also excels in one or more school athletic programs. The recipient is profiled during the sports segment of our six o'clock newscast, September through the first week of May. WHEC-TV airs a childrens programming Public Service Announcement that explains the programming educational informational symbol; what it means and how parents can use it. Public Service Announcements that aired throughout the quarter that pertained to children and teenagers were, Willow, a local non-profit that helps adults and children who are victims of domestic violence. Willow Center offers services to children staying with a parent or guardian in Willows Shelter and children accompanying a parent while they attend a support group or individual counseling. The Childrens Program supports children and families whose lives have been disrupted by violence and abuse. To assist children in dealing with the trauma of exposure to violence at home, the Childrens Program Advocates offers individual and group activities to help children learn the skills to cope with their environment and resolve conflicts without violence. The ARC of Monroe PSA educated the community about the services that ARC provides, including youth services, which allow children with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn new skills, foster independence, and become productive adults. News10NBC was a sponsor for the Ugly Disco. The proceeds from this event benefit the Golisano Childrens Hospital here in Rochester. News Anchor, Jennifer Mobilia, discoed and emceed the event. We also continued our support of The Girl Scouts. Details regarding air dates and times, for the above, can be found in the NBC and WHEC report. After filing the Stations Childrens Television Programming report for second quarter 2018, the Station realized that it was not including its weather multicast channel, which, as a public service, airs weather radar, weather alerts, and other weather information 24 hours per day, and which generates no revenue, as part of the total number of hours of programming on its Children TV Reports. Although the Station believed it had been airing extra childrens educational programming beyond FCC guidelines, the Station, upon further review, appeared to have been a half-hour short of its weekly multicast core complement since the third quarter of 2016. Accordingly, since third quarter 2018, the Station has aired at a minimum the correct number of required hours, and is working to broadcast additional childrens educational programming in order to address any prior omission and to amend its prior Reports during the relevant period. Due to an unforeseen technical issue, on Friday, January 4, 2019 two of the three EI programs regularly scheduled on WHEC DT.4 ION TVnetwork aired without displaying the symbol EI symbol. The technical issue was identified and corrected. Accordingly, the episodes were rescheduled and reaired in their entirety with the proper symbol EI on Friday, January 18, 2019 as follows, Animal Science 10AM and 10:30AM, Zoo Clues 12PM and 12:30PM. Effective May 1, 2019, WHEC DT.3 will cease to broadcast local weather information. This channel will switch to Start TV network programming.
