Teachers and educators apply for the award by explaining in detail what they would use the $1,000 for to enhance the education of their students. The entries are then put before a panel of judges who chooses one winner. Each week the KHQA Weather Department welcomes in a young student to forecast the weekend weather. Students came from various schools in our Tri-State viewing area. News staff and on-air talent hosted numerous tours of the KHQA Studio and talked about various jobs that are performed in our industry including Television and Digital. Visits were made to tri-state schools by on-air talent who discusses their career in broadcasting as well as in-house station visits by area classrooms and student groups.
