KSNV addressed the educational and informational needs of children in our community through a combination of programming, PSAs, public appearances, community service and studio tours to local youth groups. Studio tours were conducted for: Students from The Learning Jungle on 7/27/18. Visits to schools by on-air personalities included: Kevin Janison, Meteorologist, attended the Ribbon-Cutting for Ortwein Elementary on 8/13/18 and did a live Weathercast from Doris Reed Elementary for Back-to-School Night on 8/29/18. Community events attended by on-air personalities included: Kevin Janison, Meteorologist, was Emcee for Reading Rangers School Year Kick-Off Event on 8/8/18. Dana Wagner, Anchor, was Emcee for Dessert Before Dinner Benefit for the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada on 9/15/18. Krystal Allan, Anchor, and Chloe Beardsley, Meteorologist, were Emcees for The Lucky Duck Fundraiser for Foundation for Positively Kids on 9/29/18. "Make-A-Wish Monday" is a regular segment in KSNV newscasts that features children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions that have their wishes granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
