Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. WHEC-TV participates in a project whereby local high school seniors are nominated to be the News10NBC Scholar Athlete of the week. Every Tuesday our sports-team selects a unique senior who not only holds an 85 or higher average academically, but also excels in one or more school athletic programs. The recipient is profiled during the sports segment of our six o'clock newscast, September through the first week of May. Touchdown 10 airs Friday nights September through October during our 11pm newscast. The segment highlights Section V High School football players and games in our area. During the quarter when Saturday Today and Sunday Today are broadcast, WHEC utilizes the available cut-in time for a segment called Get Out of The House. On-air personalities list community activities that the family can do throughout the weekend. Each segment is approximately one to two minutes in length. WHEC-TV airs a childrens programming Public Service Announcement that explains the programming educational informational symbol; what it means and how parents can use it. Public Service Announcements that aired throughout the quarter that pertained to children and teenagers were, Distracted Driving while texting, Suicide Prevention, Student Attendance, Bullying, Opioid Addiction, Stomp Out Bullying, No Kid Goes Hungry campaign and Join the Girl Scouts. Details regarding air dates and times can be found in the NBC and WHEC Childrens Programming Report. On Saturday July 14, 2018, Wilderness Vet aired for only 22 minutes due to a sports overage. WHEC rescheduled the program on July 29, 2018 where it aired in its entirety. Due to the NBC network experiencing technical problems, the Sunday, September 16, 2018 broadcasts of Journey with Dylan Dryer, at 10:30AM, Naturally Danny Seo, at 11AM, The Voyager with Josh Garcia, at 12:30PM and Wilderness Vet, at 1:00PM, did not have the E-I symbol within their content. The episodes were rescheduled broadcasts due to NBC preempting them on Saturday, October 29, 2018 for live Ryder Cup Golf coverage from France. Though the E-I symbol did not appear within the show, it did air at the beginning of each broadcast for five seconds with an audio message that stating that the following program is Educational and Informational. Albeit outside of the third quarter, and in an effort to properly broadcast the four programs, Journey with Dylan Dryer, Naturally Danny Seo, The Voyager with Josh Garcia and Wilderness Vet, which displayed the E-I symbol throughout the program, WHEC has rescheduled these episodes on Sunday, October seventh, one to three PM. After filing WHECs 398 Report for second quarter 2018, it was brought to the stations attention that our digital channel DT 10.3, which is a twenty four hour a day, seven days a week Weather Channel, consisting of Weather Reports, Weather Radar and breaking Weather Alerts, and does not generate any revenue, needs to be calculated into the total number of hours of programming on the Childrens 398 Report. Once we were made aware of this, our research has found that beginning with the third quarter of 2016, WHEC- has been a half-hour short per week of its overall childrens programming requirements. Effective 3rd quarter 2018, WHEC has aired the correct number of required hours, and has made its best effort to broadcast additional childrens programming to make up for the shortage. During this quarter there were fourteen Sundays to report childrens programming on our ME-TV DT.2 channel.
