This was a part of the Information Literacy Series sponsored by the Fairfield Public Library for National Library Week. He answered questions for about an hour. May 3, 2018: News Director, Marlene Janssen, and Anchor John Garlock offered the prayer for the media for National Day of Prayer. John went to Kirksville Manor Care Center. Marlene went to Twin Pines Adult Care Center. May 18, 2018: About 10 sophomores from Ottuwma High School took a tour of the Ottumwa Bureau. They were there for about 90 minutes as part of the Gear Up program, which is designed to showcase real work place environments for students. Staff had them shoot, edit, write a story and read from the set. Chris Arbino also gave a weather demonstration. Staff on hand was Beth Waldon, Aish Menon, Dan Magruder, Marlene Janssen, Andy Grove and Chris Arbino. May 22, 2018: Anchor, John Garlock, and Chief Meteorologist, Teresa Carter spoke about their jobs at the Memphis Rotary Club. Around 13 people were in attendance. June 12, 2018: General Manager, Carol Kellum, spoke at the Scotland County Rotary Club during their June lunch meeting. Carol discussed the future of broadcasting.
