This allows children to learn about meteorology and weather safety with an interactive presentation and homework assignments. 4/6/18: Jeff George was the emcee of the OKC Summer Special Olympics. He welcomed the crowd and introduced winners and awards. 4/19/18: KOCB took part in the OAB Student Day Career Fair at River Spirit Casino in Tulsa. There were 161 students in attendance representing 13 colleges in Oklahoma. Vicki Khalili spoke to students about possible career opportunities at the station and within the Sinclair group. 5/26/18: Jeff George is the co-founder and board member of OK Bikes 4 Kids. This group raises funds for bicycle donations benefitting children in need. Jeff picked up several donated bikes and delivered to the Bikes 4 Kids depot. 6/13/18: Jeff George attended the 2018 Prom at the Children's Center and Rehab Hospital. He was a Prom Pal for patient, Kristian, interacting with the patients and staff. 6/20/18: Marcy Novak, meteorologist, spoke about weather and weather safety to a group of students 8-12 at River Sports Adventures, as part of the "Play Smart" summer camp. 6/22/18: Marcy Novak was the emcee for the inaugural St. Jude Songwriters and Symphony at Will Rogers Theatre. This fundraising event benefits children that are undergoing treatments for illnesses. 6/22/18: Jeff George was a speaker at the Mesonet Weather Camp on the University of Oklahoma campus. He spoke to over 20 ninth and tenth grade students about how meteorology impacts other careers, and advised them on aspects of broadcast meteorology and military and aviation weather. There was a question and answer session at the end.
