WNYT-TV, LLC ceased broadcasting its analog channel on 6/12/2009 per FCC. During the second quarter of 2018, WNYT/WNYA completed its "13 Kids Who Care" program. This program showcases student volunteers. There is a segment produced A reception was held in June in honor of the 13 selected student volunteers. WNYT/WNYA also highlighted "Top Teachers". Many of these teachers are nominated by their very own students. We showcase these teachers in the same fashion that we do the student volunteers. We include students in each segment. The program was completed in April, 2018 and wrapped up with a dinner honoring all of the teachers along with top student savers. The student savers are attached to the local credit union who underwrites the Top Teacher campaign. The Athlete of the Week and Scholar Athlete program continued through May of 2018. These two series are produced by the Sports department and highlight outstanding student athletes each week. The programs were wrapped up with a brunch where speakers were brought in to inspire these students. |
