On Friday April 13 Justin Steinbrinck was the emcee for Ribsfest for the Green Bay Exchange Club for the Center for Childhood Safety. On Wednesday April 18 Tom Milbourn Michelle Melby and Mike Murad hosted the 25th Annual Golden Apple Awards in Green Bay an hour- long show that celebrates excellence in education.On Thursday, April 26, Pete Petoniak, Rachel Manek, and Emily Deem hosted the Greater Green Bay Chambers Future 15 Awards, a program that recognizes remarkable young professionals. On Saturday, April 28 Michelle Melby and Mike Murad emceed the Walk 4 Autism in Kimberly. On Wednesday, May 2, Pete Petoniak was the emcee and auctioneer at the St. John the Baptist Parish annual fundraiser. 200 people in attendance. On Thursday, May 3, Michelle Melby was a speaker at the Elementary Writers Workshop and Conference in Green Bay. On Tuesday, May 8, FOX 11 Meteorologists Pete Petoniak, Patrick Powell, Phil DeCastro, and Katy Kramer gave a presentation to hundreds of middle school students at Weather Day and the Timber Rattlers Stadium in Appleton. On Wednesday, May 9, Donna Fischer gave a tour to a group of six Girl Scouts. On Thursday, May 10, Pete Petoniak and Rachel Manek hosted the Runway for Life event. About 400 people were in attendance. The event raised tens of thousands of dollars for Families of Children with Cancer, a local organization. On Friday, May 11, FOX 11 Director of Meteorologist Pete Petoniak and General Manager Jay Zollar presented a check on-air for more than $10,000 to a local homeless shelter. The money came from the sales of commemorative tshirts sold after Blizzard Evelyn dropped more than 2 feet of snow on the area in mid-April. On Saturday, May 12, Emily Deem hosted the JDRF One Walk at the Brown County Fairgrounds in De Pere. On Wednesday, May 23, all of the FOX 11 anchors participated in the Best of the Class ceremony at Lambeau Fields Atrium. It was attended by more than 400 area high school students.On Wednesday, June 6, FOX 11 Director of Meteorology Pete Petoniak spoke to the fifth grade students (about 80 students and their parents and other family members) at King Elementary during their recognition ceremony as they head into middle school next year. He offered motivation, tips and advice for the students. On Tuesday, June 26, Donna Fischer gave a tour to about 20 international students from the English as a Second Language program at St. Norbert College in De Pere. On Tuesday, June 26, FOX 11 Meteorologist Pete Petoniak was auctioneer and Rachel Manek emceed the Green Bay East High School Fine Arts Institute Fundraiser. About $10,000 was raised for the institute which helps students further their studies in music, the literary arts, the visual arts and theater arts.
