We brought our prize wheel and invited everyone to take a spin to win prizes! Heart Ball (April 28) WKOW sponsored this dinner to benefit adults and children with heart disease May Madison Mallards sponsored by WKOW WKOW sponsors all Mallards bobblehead nights though the summer. Be among the first 1000 people through the gates and receive a special bobblehead from the Madison Mallards and WKOW. United Way Community Award Volunteers-sponsored by WKOW (May 2) The Community Volunteer Awards is the largest recognition reception in Dane County, recognizing 64 outstanding volunteers that make an impact on our community. United Way volunteers, young and old, are recognized for their achievements. March of Dimes: March for Babies sponsored by WKOW (May 12) WKOW News Anchor Dani Maxwell emceed this walk to benefit the March of Dimes in their mission is to help prevent premature births. Syttende Mai Parade (May 20) WKOW participated in the Syttende Mai Stoughton, Wisconsin parade. Anchors and Reporters handed out candy to thousands of people to help celebrate Stoughtons Norwegian culture. Monona Memorial Day parade (May 28) WKOW participated in the Monona Memorial Day parade. Anchors and Reporters handed out candy to thousands of people. June Fiesta Italia (June 2) Celebration of the Italian culture; with food, music, pasta eating contest, dancers and more. WKOW anchors judged the pasta eating contest. Walk Wheel and WAGS (June 2) WKOW sponsors Walk and Wheel event to benefit WAGS. From the selection of puppies to client training and follow-up, WAGS mission is to promote functional independence and quality of life for individuals with physical disabilities. American Red Cross Golf Outing (June 7) WKOW sponsored and participated in this event benefitting blood donation for people of all ages. Special Olympics Wisconsin (June 7) Emceed the start of Special Olympics of Wisconsin, for children with disabilities. Salvation Army Tin Cup Lunch (June 17) This special fundraising event features stories of some of the individuals we have been able to serve because of your generosity. Safety Camp (June 11) Meteorologist Max Tsaparis hosted a session at a local safety camp, teaching children all about the weather and severe weather safety. Concerts on the Square (June - August) All summer long WKOW sponsors Wednesday Concerts on the Square. Bring your blanket and enjoy some the best music Madison has to offer at Concerts on the Capitol Square beginning at 7pm. WKOW provides a live weather forecast at the start of the show. |
