During 2nd Quarter WZTV either participated or hosted the following community related events: WZTV teamed up with local Ronald McDonald Charities House and St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, aired local public services announcements and televised local telethon in support of the children charities. Station meteorologists visited several surrounding local early education and secondary schools to talk about science within the Middle Tennessee area. WZTV provided opportunities for summer camps, students, Girls Scout, and Boys Scout, to visit and tour the station to learn about careers in broadcasting. Station anchors and reports lead several in house station tours for elementary age students, middle school age students, junior high age students, high school age students, college and university age students. Several opportunities were provided for interns in the promotions, marketing, public affairs, and news departments. Teamed up with Historic Downtown Franklin non profit organization that put on its annual Mainstreet Festival down in the historic district of Franklin, Tennessee. The free spring celebration, was a fun filled weekend of childrens activities, music, arts and crafts, and food. WZTV aired several public service announcements that informed student age children, teens, youth, and young adults about Anti Bullying, Learning Attention Homework, Fatherhood, Hunger Prevention and School Violence Prevention.
