This quarter, KABC-TV ran over 100 public service announcements PSAs on D1 and over 1,000 PSAs on D2 specifically geared to children during various dayparts, including time periods in and around our children's programming. These PSAs covered subjects ranging from nutrition to education and volunteering. KABC-TV also produces the local public affairs/informational program Vista L.A., which showcases positive influences for young and old Latino viewers. KABC-TV also sponsors many community events throughout southern California. Thanksgiving Celebration for Veterans and their Families ABC7 partnered with Goodwill Southern California and Pavilions to provide a Thanksgiving Dinner to give thanks to our military veterans and their families on November 21, 2017. ABC7 employees volunteered to serve and sit with the veterans and families. Marc Brown and Michelle Tuzee welcomed everyone and served as Masters of Ceremonies. Spark of Love Toy Drive Produced and aired Public Service Announcements promoting the 25th Anniversary of our Toy Drive, which helps children in all five counties of Southern California. In conjunction with the Southland Firefighters and Toys for Tots, over 500,000 toys were collected and distributed to those in need in the communities. As part of the Anniversary, we gave out Silver Envelopes with prizes and coupons to everyone who donated a toy at the Stuff-A-Buses. Leslie Lopez and Ashley Brewer were the Campaign Spokespeople and hosted our five Stuff-A-Buses. They were in Cerritos and Canoga Park on December 1, 2017, Ontario on December 11, 2017, Anaheim on December 15, 2017 and Oxnard on December 20, 2017. The Oxnard event was put on last minute, to help the victims of the Thomas Fires in Ventura County. |
