WTOV9 features a Snowbird Coloring Submission with coloring pages featured daily on NEWS9 Sunrise on WTOV9 and FOX9. Snowbird coloring pages can be picked up at area sponsors as well as the WTOV9 webpage. ------ WTOV9, FOX9 and 6 area Salvation Army units join to sponsor the Coats for Kids campaign. The Coats for Kids campaign raises money to take less fortunate children shopping for new winter coats. This is the 26th year for the Coats for Kids program. The program carries through the winter season as money continues to come in. The money is distributed to the participating Salvation Army units. ------ WTOV9 aired the following Christmas Parades during the 4th Qtr. of 2017 - 11/17/17 - Perkins Restaurant & Bakery Fantasy in Lights Parade (LIVE) - Wheeling, WV - 6:30-8 pm; 11/26/17 - Weirton Christmas Parade (Tape Delay) - Weirton, WV - 12-1:30 pm; 12/9/17 - Steubenville Christmas Parade (LIVE) - Steubenville, OH -12-1:15 pm; 12/24/17 - St. Clairsville Christmas Parade (Tape Delay) - St. Clairsville, OH - 12-1:30 pm. ----- NEWS9 Meteorologist, Jeff Oechslein, visited Hooverson Heights Elementary School on 12/5/17 and spoke with 4th & 5th graders about weather and various careers within the media industry.
